7 - Filter and dry Water is removed from the PVC compound precipitate. 2 - Dissolving A solvent is used that dissolves the PVC but does not dissolve other materials contaminating the waste. 1 - Pre-treatment Waste materials are cleaned, sorted and ground into small pieces. 4 - Contaminants Other materials in the waste mixture are removed. These may be recycled in other processes.
5 - Precipitation PVC compound is separated from the solvent by precipitation. 3 - Separation Dissolved PVC compound is separated from the other contaminants by filtration or centrifuge. 8 - PVC compound The regenerated PVC is packaged and ready for re-use in the manufacture of new products. 6 - Solvent recycled 99.9% of the solvent is re-used.
